Bad weather blamed for helicopter crash in Indonesia

(Xinhua) -- Poor weather has caused the crash of Army's helicopter in West Java of Indonesia on Monday, in which two officers were killed, Military Commander General Djojko Santoso said here.

"Based on the report that I received, the accident was caused by weather which was very poor in the location," the Commander told reporters.

Santoso ruled out that the aging of the chopper and poor maintenance contributed to the fall of the helicopter.

"The evaluation on the quality of the equipments have been carried out regularly," he said.

The helicopter, which was manufactured in 1988 and belonging to the Indonesia's special armed force special unit, fell down at Pagelaran district of West Java during a regular training on Monday. Two other people on board were injured.
